A special bridal boudoir shoot

This is the blog post I wanted to write three years ago. Then Rona came, and then I took 18 months break from weddings. But it’s finally here. And although it’s not directly wedding stuff, is it definitely wedding-related. It’s about a very special bridal boudoir.

I don’t know why but one of the most visited pages on my wedding website is the boudoir photography page. And here is the special topic. If you read my blog, you might remember my third wedding in Charleston in 2019. Two years before this wedding, I shot a wedding of her sister.

This bride wanted to hand an extraordinary gift to her husband-to-be. But this time, we made it differently. We didn’t shoot it before the wedding, though we decided to do it on the wedding day. We were chatting about this for more than an hour, and then we decided. The primary reason was the destination. Yes, it was a destination wedding and not just for me but also for the bride.

Well, we made it. It was fantastic, the results are excellent, and now I know something that I want to share with you. Each bride wants to look her best for the big day. And they usually do. So if you think about this, what could be a better time to do boudoir photos than at the beginning of the day?!

Obviously, you have to be able to block at least 1 to 2 hours in the morning for the boudoir session, which is not easy, but it’s achievable. We already have makeup and hair; you look stunning, so everything’s ready for great results. The only downside is that the photographer starts the day with the most challenging stuff. But if they are okay with that, just go for it, and you won’t regret it!

As you can see, we had a fantastic venue and a wonderful sunny day. The big windows of the venue and white walls allowed the space to be very bright, and we were able to achieve excellent bright and airy results.

The work went well, and the bride was happy. And I’m even happier. Now I wonder what you think of these pictures from our bridal boudoir shoot on the wedding day. Let me know in the comments below, please.
